OUR POLICIES

Vaccinations

  • Dogs being groomed at Jenna'Furs are required to have the following vaccinations to protect them against these preventable contagious diseases:
    • Rabies (as required by law)
    • DHPP (distemper, hepatitis, parainfluenza, and parvovirus)
  • Expiration dates for both vaccinations are required on our intake form and you confirm the dates you have provided are true and accurate.
  • If your dog is not able to get vaccinated due to a medical condition, please call us to make special arrangements for grooming your dog. These appointments must accompany a document from your veterinarian disclosing your dogs inability to receive such vaccines.

Payment

  • Payment is to be made at the time of service. Payment can be cash, credit card, apple pay or Venmo to @jennafursgermantown or online invoice. Checks not accepted.

Cancellations

  • Cancellation and rescheduling of an appointment can be made with no penalty up to 24 hours before your scheduled appointment time.
  • Cancellations and rescheduling after the 24 hour period are subject to a fee of 100% of the total projected groom price unless the appointment slot can be filled.
  • In the event of inclement weather, a family emergency or any other uncontrollable circumstance, the groomer has the discretion to waive the fee.
  • Every effort will be made to reschedule at a time convenient for both the client and the groomer to avoid such fees.

No Shows

It is considered a "no-show" when the client is not present at the scheduled appointment time and does not contact the groomer to cancel or reschedule.

  • We reserve the right to charge the full projected grooming fee due to the loss of revenue caused by a "no-show".
  • We reserve the right to require full payment prior to scheduling services for repeated no-shows.

Late Arrivals

  • If you arrive within 15 minutes after your scheduled appointment time and we can still accommodate your dog, we reserve the right to add a late fee of $20 to your total groom price.
  • If you arrive more than 15 minutes after your scheduled appointment time and we cannot accommodate your dog, it will be considered a "no show" and we reserve the right to charge the full projected grooming fee.

Late Pick Up

  • We give a grace period of 30 minutes to pick up your dog from the time you are notified the groom is complete unless otherwise agreed to by both parties. After 30 minutes, a $30 late pick up fee will be added for every 30 minutes until your dog is picked up.

Suggested Frequency of Grooming

  • The frequency of how often a dog needs to be groomed is dependent upon the growth rate of their coat coupled with the length of the haircut. Jenna'Furs recommends grooming every 6-8 weeks. We are not responsible for matting that occurs within or outside of this time frame. Grooming maintenance between grooms is solely the responsibility of the owner.

Shaving and De-Matting

  • Brushing out matts can lead to pain, discomfort and skin irritation. Slight to moderate matting can frequently be worked out with the right products and technique with minimal discomfort to the dog but shaving is often the most humane way to remove more significant matting. Shaving and de-matting are delicate processes that require skill and are done safest slowly and meticulously. These scenarios are subject to a fee determined at the time of the appointment based on severity which dictates time and product needed to treat the matting. Jenna’Furs is not responsible for any injury (such as hematomas) or skin irritation (rash or redness) that occurs as a direct result of removing such matting.

Hours

  • Our services are by appointment only. Our operating hours are Tuesday-Saturday with the exception of holidays or special events in which these operational hours may vary.

Groom Time May Vary

  • Unexpected matting, behavioral challenges, late arrivals and/or nail trims are common unforeseen challenges that can dislodge our schedule. This means while your dog is at the salon on time, there may be occasions where we must begin the groom later than expected. We ask for your patience and will contact you as soon as your dog is finished.

Food Allergies

  • Pets are given treats during their stay at Jenna’Furs for positive reinforcement. All our snacks are made in the USA with the highest-grade quality chicken-free ingredients. Some treats may contain fish and/or nuts. It is your responsibility to inform us of any food allergies your dog has or that are present in the household on our intake form.

Anal Glands

  • We do not offer anal gland expression as this should be performed by a licensed veterinarian. When functioning normally, dogs anal glands express on their own. The only time glands will need manual expression is if something is preventing the sac from emptying naturally. If this is the case, this means there's a problem and the safest way to empty these sacs is internally which groomers are not authorized to do. We can inform you on the condition of your dogs glands and advise that you contact your veterinarian to seek treatment if needed.

Pricing

  • Our prices listed on our website are base prices and are determined by the amount of time and product estimated to complete a groom for any specific breed or size and may vary based on size, coat type & temperament. Prices are subject to special handling fees for dogs with behavioral challenges that require extra time. Prices are subject to a yearly increase to accommodate for inflation. By agreeing to this document you state that you have reviewed and agree to these base prices and terms.

Free Roaming

  • Upon arrival, every dog is closely monitored to ensure that appropriate social skills are displayed. If there are any queues that any dog would jeopardize the safety of the other dogs at the salon or if the dog prefers to be alone, we are equipped with 4 large suite enclosures to separate them from the pack while still providing them a comfortable experience. While the likelihood is small, there is an inherent risk of injury such as bites or injury during play and by agreeing to this document you are aware of these inherent risks and wish to continue to include them in our free roaming environment.

Permission to Contact Veterinarian

  • In the event of a life threatening medical emergency, we have permission to take your dog to the nearest veterinary facility for immediate treatment at dog owners expense. We also have permission to contact your veterinarian for vaccination records and exchange pertinent health information such as medical history or pre-existing conditions to better ensure their safety during grooming.

Permission to Use Photos

  • Unless otherwise specified, we have your permission to use any photos taken of your dog during their visit with us on our website and social media pages.

We Do Not Shave/Clip Double Coated Dogs

  • Shaving/Clipping a double coated dog presents many risks such as permanently damaging their coat, subjecting their skin to sun damage and/or irritation and hindering their natural cooling abilities. Because of this, we choose not to shave/clip double coated dogs. There are extenuating circumstances such as old age, illness, severe matting or a damaged coat that we may opt for clipping only if after evaluating the individual dog's condition that the groomer concludes it is in the dogs best interest. Frequent shedding does not constitute shaving. Aside from these anomalies, there are NO exceptions.

The Bordetella Vaccine

  • Bordetella is an extremely contagious canine illness commonly known as kennel cough. This disease is spread between dogs through direct contact and airborne transmission. The Bordetella vaccine is not required for grooming at Jenna’Furs but it is highly recommended. Much like the human influenza vaccine, this vaccine provides protection against the projected active strains during each season which means even if vaccinated, it’s still possible for your dog to contract other strains. You acknowledge this information and relieve Jenna’Furs of any liability from assuming responsibility for any said Bordetella contamination or contraction.
